The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) will be responsible for conducting independent audits, evaluating financial and operational processes, and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.

The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is tasked with planning and executing audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement internal audit plans to assess business operations, financial processes,
and risk management
- Conduct audits to evaluate internal controls, compliance, and operational effectiveness
- Identify areas for process improvement and provide recommendations to management
- Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Prepare detailed audit reports with findings and corrective action plans
- Collaborate with departments to implement audit recommendations
- Assist in fraud detection and risk mitigation strategies
- Stay updated on internal audit trends, financial regulations, and industry standards

Requirements

- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent professional certification (e.g., CPA, CISA)
- Experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably in retail or corporate
environments
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, financial regulations, and risk management
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Proficiency in audit software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism

Exam location

The venue is a meeting room at Sarit Center Expo in Westlands. We shall communicate the exact meeting room in the building by Friday 28th March 2025.

Exam Instructions

The exam payment shall be KSh 500. The purpose of the payment is to pay the experts marking the exams as well as payment for the venue. It is payable at the exam location before doing the exam.

You will be required to carry your ID and a pen.

The exam shall be done on Saturday 29th March 2025. The exam time shall be 8:00 am EAT. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes to time.

The exam will be a written exam.

- Theoretical and practical applications of accounting
- Theoretical and practical applications of finance
- Theoretical and practical applications of business administration

The top 3 individuals will do a final interview with the company to determine who is the most qualified. All applicants will know the results within 1 day. The top 3 applicants will have their KSh 500 refunded within 2 business days.
